How to protect yourself from the loss of intellectual property?
Hello! I have an idea for a game that seems to be quite popular in certain circles. If I hire a third-party programmer to implement the idea (develop the game), there is a risk of losing intellectual property (potentially, the programmer can use the idea and the developed game in his own interests). What are the ways to protect against such a development of events?

When hiring a developer, do so at least under a contract that makes all the deliverables your own. If you have an LLC and this is an employee in the state, then this is probably already spelled out in the employment contract. If not, add it now. Plus, enter a trade secret regime, according to which the disclosure of a certain type of information is a violation - and enter into the composition of this information everything that you think is necessary.
But in general, keep in mind that after the release of the game, you will not be able to keep competitors from copying your idea. And if it's worth it, it's already a matter of time before a clone appears.
