How to protect your computer from junk software?

Hello guys,
My friend has a 10 year old child who loves to download games and mods for them on the computer, and all this ends with the fact that about once a month I have to come and clean his computer from viruses (ala amigo, avast, Yandex elements and all that). Sometimes Windows also needs to be demolished, because PPC lags.
Do you have any ideas what can be done to avoid this? And then as a result, the child is without a computer, and I have to run around to fix it.
I was already thinking about installing Linux, and launching toys (he doesn’t play something serious, usually Mine and no more) through vine (if they are not supported anyway). How do you like this idea?

1) Minecraft is written in java, and there is a version for Linux;
2) Minecraft is a serious game. Many civil engineers play it, plus they do incredible things that schoolchildren can't do (calculators, processors, etc.)
3) You can install Linux Mint. This distribution, as it were, is aimed at home users.

He broke it himself - let him fix it himself, give him a flash drive and another computer without admin rights and access to the Internet. Attention! He can, God forbid, become an admin, or even a devops or developer - be careful.
PS Why the hell bother with other people's children at all?

There is no normal solution here, except to teach the child how to clean the computer.
Reinstalling the OS can be simplified to restoring from a backup, sawing a flash drive with a couple of scripts using partclone and a question menu - make a backup or restore a backup, and even teach a kid how to use it

1. Don't help. Fuck yourself - figure it out yourself.
2. Control a problem child. Set access zones, restrict rights.
3. Such a child is a security hole. Get ready for leaked passwords and mail that will be publicly available on the network.
PS Ideal child for competitors

As an option - Unchecky . Once I put it on client computers, but xs how it works now - I tied up with fuss with private computers a long time ago and I advise you. You need it - to rake up the rubble after the user, without regaining consciousness and not even trying to read and understand what he is doing, pokes at everything, agrees with everything, and puts all this amigo-like trash? All these viral cracks (well, how about - to cover up a pimple on your ass, you definitely need no less than Photoshop), garbage software like Mediaget, just completely clogged hard drives to zero to the eyeballs - brr!

Install Linux (to cut off most Windows-specific malware), create a user with admin rights, and connect under it remotely, and give the child a simple user.
But Wine runs as a simple user, and each user has their own .wine directory. That is, he himself will be able to put games there, all sorts of mods, and if this directory is damaged or a virus gets there, you can simply demolish it and reinstall the toys. You can also set up an incremental scheduled backup (that is, at the beginning of the month, this entire directory is archived, and then every day only changes), then if the child downloaded something wrong, his data can be restored so as not to lose any data ( although games now most likely store data in the clouds, so this may not be necessary). In this case, the backup is launched from the root user, and malware from a regular user will not be able to delete backups.

Personally, I would: in the absence of space for a second computer / system unit, I would put a second copy of Windows on a neighboring partition / disk and with settings / policies forbade Windows to see / connect to each other's disks.
And then: the brakes and glitches of the small are the brakes and the glitches of the small.
Because Malware, like viruses, always comes up with more and more new ways to bypass blocking and other things.

I would do this, install Windu (and in Linux you can hack without an admin password so that later you will figure it out for a long time) set it up and make a backup via acronis true image, I would also create another user in the system and take away the rights from him . Now, even if the second user did not help, you can always restore Windu from a backup in 5 minutes, just show how to do it to the owner of the PC and let him restore it himself so as not to pull you

Do not give the user administrative rights.

Well, the law does not prohibit such perversions. So don't go to jail for that. But they will not be considered an adequate person either.
I have to come and clean his computer from viruses
Isn't it easier to roll back?
