How to protect confidential data on a laptop?

I carry a small laptop with me, it is synchronized with my home computer via Dropbox - there are personal notes, financial reports and other important information. Also on the laptop there is a WebMoney keeper for example.
Question - how to make sure that if the laptop is stolen, the thief could not access either WebMoney or files synchronized with the computer?
On a Windows 7 Ultimate laptop.

If the task is to encrypt dropbox data (or just data that is, in fact, in the same folder), then the easiest way is to use BoxCryptor Classic.
The free version, according to offsite, does not encrypt file names (for some reason it encrypts for me). Set it on a dropbox folder, or on a subfolder - and all its contents (files and subdirectories) will be successfully encrypted. Don't lose your password :)
When mounting, a virtual disk with the contents of the encrypted folder will appear.
The advantage is that, unlike TrueCrypt, files are encrypted individually, and do not lie in one cryptocontainer (less traffic during synchronization, higher reliability).
As for WM Keeper - is there a password to enter in the same place?

A simple solution is to take Bitlocker, encrypt drive "C" and place the key on a flash drive, after that, every time you start your computer, your computer will ask for this flash drive (only when you turn it on, then you can get it and not occupy the port)
