How to protect a Joomla template from piracy?

Hello!
Developed a template for VirtueMart. Placed for sale and almost immediately there was a clubbing. I wrote to the admins of the resource with a request to close the topic, but this is a temporary solution.
I wonder if there are any mechanisms (email and domain confirmation, for example) to protect Joomla templates from piracy. Maybe some kind of plugin.
I understand that 100% cannot be insured, but at least some kind of barrier.

No, it can't be: if you build some protection (it's easy), you can just remove it (it's easy).
