How to properly use an SSD in a server?
Good afternoon.
Help with choosing a solution.
There is a server on which Adaptec ASR-7805, 4 SAS ST9300653SS. Disks are assembled in Raid10.
Proxmox is installed on the server (in the future it will be possible to switch to Hiper-V or WMware), it has 2 VMs:
1. Win 2008 - 1C SCP server
2. Ubuntu with PostgreSQL for 1C.
Everything works fine, copes with the tasks, but as always, I want more.
There are 2 SSD Intel S3500 120GB SSDSC2BB120G4.
What is the best way to apply them?
1. Collect a hybrid raid?
2. Collect in the second Raid1 on 2x SSD? Then which of the machines is more productive to place there: with a base or with a 1c application server? (will fit both).
3. Is it better to assemble a separate RAID for SSD with a controller or a system?
It is desirable that the disks are not ordered to live long after six months.
Operations in the database - read\write = 50\50.
The controller does not support SSD caching (maxCache).
Memory on the server with a margin - a VM with a base of more than 23GB does not eat up.

Another option is to use ssd drives as a cache, but use software solutions for this. There are several implementations for Linux, but they require a modern kernel - Proxmox uses the openvz kernel, which is quite outdated. However, if you switch to VmWare, then there is such an opportunity - habrahabr.ru/company/it-grad/blog/250499
