How to properly set up sharing on different OSes?
It seems like a stupid question, but my brain is already boiling % (
The point is: there is a static computer with Win7 on board and a bunch of porn movies on hard drives that you need to have constant access to, preferably from any device. Hard drives are shared, permissions are set to full access for
all.Netbook on WinHP comes in, but periodically requests login/password.The
pipe on Android (Desire S) asked for login/password once, since then it comes in (I use ES Explorer - climbs through smb).
The other day I bought an MSI WindPad 110w tablet, installed Win8 - it turned out to be a kind of super thing, it loads 20 seconds, it doesn’t blunt, it doesn’t make noise and it doesn’t ask for 6 hours. But here's an ambush: you can't get through to the next computer. Rather, it comes in sometimes, but with a creak - it doesn’t see the computer on the network, it sees it, but it doesn’t connect. If you manage to log in from the tenth time, then it is necessary through the login / password (which is very freezing on the touch screen).
I should note that all this is mutated exclusively in the home network through the Asus WL-500gP router. All firewalls / firewalls (both on the router and on the clients) are turned off. I just can’t imagine where else to dig, so I decided to consult with the habravchans. Help!
UPD.I took off all the passwords from the account, the situation improved a little (even though it doesn’t ask to enter anything), but it still doesn’t let the balls go the first time - it gives out “Windows cannot access \\% compname%”.

If you only need movies, then share them via http with autoindex enabled. VLC over http is quite watching movies and many even with rewind working correctly.
And if you raise a banal anonymous FTP, giving it a folder with your films and other things?
Z.Y. If there was Linux on the computer, it would be possible to give the entire / media folder via FTP, in which to mount your hard drives in the form / media / sda1, / media / sda2, etc.
Movies (music, pictures) can be shared (accessed) through the Media Center via DLNA, there are clients for android (on htc firmware it is generally built-in). True, I don’t know how it will be with access from XP, but for sure there is some kind of client.
win <-> win access by regular means via smb requires configured authentication.
The simplest is workgroup for windows, in fact, it is enough that the users and passwords on both computers are the same (even the workgroup does not have to match) ... if not, allocate a server and install a domain controller (linux with samba can handle this quite well), but at least some (simple) gestures will be required to transfer the settings of current accounts to domain accounts.
ps cheap versions of windows (home level is not professional) can create additional difficulties for organizing a local network for marketing reasons.
On stationary Windows 7, disable password access altogether. This can be done in the Network and Sharing Center. Then no passwords will be asked at all.
