Good day gentlemen!
Briefly about the essence: there is an index file index_sitemap.xml in which there will be a list of other sitemaps, in the admin panel I do their generation and creation in automatic mode, after which I update the index.
The problem is how to create/edit such files correctly without opening access to the server root folder and whether it is possible to place sitemaps not only in the root, but for example in a separate folder indicating their placement in the index, for example:
/index_sitemap.xml
/sitemaps /sitemap1.xml
/sitemaps/sitemap2.xml
/sitemaps/sitemap3.xml
