Good time of the day. The question is hackneyed, but still, since there is no money for genymotion, you have to live with what you have. There is a laptop core i5 12gb of RAM xdd not ssd, there is no money for it yet. Created Avd nexus 7 with 2GB of opera, downloading for half an hour. How can you speed up the process?

Download x86(ATOM) android image instead of ARM. Much faster everything. Well, HAXM, of course.

Genymotion has a free version.
There could be about a million reasons.
ps:
- install HAXM: developer.android.com/tools/devices/emulator.html
- relatively recently Google released a new version of the emulator that is even faster: tools.android.com/tech-docs/emulator
