How to properly learn Laravel if versions change so often?

Good day to all!

Please help me decide.

There is a great desire to learn Laravel. The current version is 8 and there is excellent documentation, but this is documentation, ie. All information goes in a row in sections. With English - I'm bad, unfortunately. Those. only basic knowledge, the rest - through a translator and I won’t be able to watch Laracasts.

I used to start learning through a book, where the initial information is given sequentially, and after mastering this base, you can move on to documentation and practice.

But for Laravel 8, there is only one book . If anyone knows her, please share your opinion. Is it worth it to start with?

There are also many courses on YouTube, but they are for older versions of Laravel (mostly 5+). As the same course facilitators say, the versions do not differ much from each other and there are also 40-minute videos on transferring the project from this course from the old version of Laravel to the new one. Again, to study these courses, you need to install the old version, then transfer to the new one, etc. If you start immediately with a new version, there will be some errors that will lead to Google for a solution. Maybe this, of course, is a good practice, but it seems to me that new versions are rolled out for a reason and it is worth starting immediately with the latest version in order to study modern practices.

In general, I apologize for the confusion described above and ask for help: where would you advise to start learning Laravel so that it is as effective as possible and the knowledge gained is relevant to the latest version of Laravel?

Thanks in advance for your replies!

framework versions do not change dramatically.
the basics of l5 apply exactly the same to l8, the differences are only in the details.
