How to properly connect to twitter streaming api?

Good afternoon, colleagues.
There is a need to access the Twitter API from the site. REST has its limitations, which we will run into sooner or later. There is a wonderful option: dev.twitter.com/docs/streaming-apis
1. Does anyone have experience, ready-made libraries, or at least a clear explanation of how to do this correctly from PHP?
2. Does anyone know how to correctly run a PHP script from the CLI (most likely it will have to be done this way) so that they do not run into problems (it crashes, sticks, glitches). Apparently some kind of watchdog nbgf daemontools is needed. Share your experience.
