How to properly configure Cross-Server Private Network on Xenserver 6.2?
Actually there are 2 xenserver 6.2 hosts. They work for Hetzner.
Have 1 network interface with white IP. +1 Additional address for virtual router.
On both hosts, I launched the VM as a router for the local network (Single-Server Private Network)
I decided to use the Cross-Server Private Network option to ensure VM migration between hosts
Merged Merged the hosts into a pool. Activated OpenvSwitch Controller. For the Controller Address, openvswitch specified management the address of one of the hosts.
XenCenter has the ability to add a Cross-Server Private Network. But the problem is that VMs that have an interface connected to this network do not ping each other if they are on different hosts.
Everything works within the same host.
In addition to the question from the topic:
- should VMs be accessible to each other on different hosts when connected to the same Cross-Server network?
- if they should, then please direct me to how it is configured

Logically, it’s also a Cross-Server in order to make a private network between servers, but I have a number of questions
: . (for me, migration worked without it, but it was a long time ago, I could forget the subtleties)
2. What is wrong with a simple Vlan raised as an additional interface on each card of all servers?
Basically, you need to dig deeper. Sat, read, poraskinul brains.
Open vSwitch is designed for SDN (Software Defined Network). Accordingly, for the operation of such a switch, a central controller is needed. Before version 6.2, a controller from Citrix itself was used - DVSC, but in 6.2 this feature is called obsolete ( here )
Accordingly, it seems like you can use (yet) DVSC from Citrix, but there will be no further support.
Thus - what would the bags run between the servers you need to put DVSC or another controller. Google search is not particularly happy with other examples of the implementation of this controller, which have sane (GUY) administration tools. It is possible without the GUI, but then you need to understand the topic more deeply, and for me this is just a waste of time at the moment. We'll have to figure it out, but not right now.
In general, as I deal with this issue, I will write it off here.
