How to properly configure compression in Btrfs?
I know that files/directories can have the -c attribute . If some files are marked with it, they will be compressed a little :) If I'm not mistaken. I know about the compress option with possible values of lzo or zlib . But as far as I understand, if you use this option when mounting, all files will be compressed, regardless of the attributes. But here comes the paradox: how does the system know which algorithm to compress if I give an attribute, but do not give an option? Or will it not work? It’s just that I’m already completely confused and due to the fact that I’m mistaken somewhere, such a mess has turned out. But I just want to compress some directories through zlib.

The logic of the mount option and the attribute is quite intertwined, I tried to formulate all this "intricacies" here: http://help.ubuntu.ru/wiki/btrfs#packaging_data
PS the link does not work well here (does not translate to the desired section), just copy it into the browser with your hands or by clicking on it, find the "Data Packing" section on the right in the table of contents.
