How to promote a website for free?

I have a website with online applications.
- Added it to Yandex, created a sitemap using the plugin.
- In OK and VK I created thematic groups where I will post newly created programs with a link to my site. From similar thematic groups, OK invite 100-150 people daily. I also repost some of them.
- Added a link to the site in a couple of catalogs.
- Also from time to time I put a link to the site in the answers to the mail.ru.
- I created an acc to peekaboo, decided to promote it, and then carefully also try to advertise the site (though I don’t know if it makes sense to waste time).
- wrote an article with a link, but there is less than 100 attendance, so I think in vain.
- expanded the site by adding a blog with useful notes about the PC (well, there, how to close a frozen application, select a hard drive, etc.)
---------------------- --------
However, for the month the result is zero. Attendance of the site is a maximum of 10-13 people. Therefore, as I understand it, you need to approach promotion more professionally, but the problem is that I have 0 experience and knowledge. There are a lot of articles on the Internet, but I don’t know which of them to believe. Therefore, the question is, what are effective ways to promote, what needs to be studied for promotion, and how long will it take in general? In short, where to start and how to proceed?

Oh ... what naive ways, apparently everyone started with this =)
What is your website topic at least?
Why do people visit your site?
What content will people expect on the site?
Why are you making a website?
__
The very idea that you will place some links somewhere, send your site to people in a personal message, show it in some chat room and people will start going there - is wrong.
People will start going to your site only in one of 2 cases:
- you will have some cool information on your site, for which people will come to you themselves (moreover, the site and the format of the information will be such that search engines will put it above the sites of your competitors with the same information)
- you will start driving traffic to your site on an industrial scale (i.e. in a paid way). And you will have some profit from the fact that these people come to your site. Those. you can make a site about cats, order advertisements for a million, conditionally 100k people (cat lovers) will come to you, look at your site and leave. As a result, you lost a million, but did not earn anything.

How to promote a website for free? Easily.

  • We make a good quality website.
  • We make it SEO-optimization of internal factors.
  • We make a matrix of requests that interest you.
  • We add high-quality unique content to the site that matches the matrix.
  • We collect about 600-800 units of material (moreover, it is necessary to add it with a periodicity of 1 material, once every 1-3 days).
  • Some of the materials will get into the top search results according to the test ranking principle
  • We get some kind of traffic (needed, useful, monetized - and who knows =)

With free promotion, it will take much more time, and one way or another it is better to invest at least a small amount. What can I advise you, based on what has already been written:
- crowd marketing (you have made attempts (mail and peek-a-boo), but you need to do it correctly, at least select thematic sites on which you will leave links, it is better to do it incrementally (let's say the first month 10 links, the second 12, etc.) You can do this work yourself, but for high-quality crowd, you also need to check resources for trust and spam... It will take a decent amount of time, again, the service is not expensive and for 2-3 thousand per month this question is easily closed
- check competitors, see what resources link to them, mark them as the most profitable and yourself (again, crowd to help and outreach)
- well, it’s trite to register in catalogs, not thoughtlessly, again based on the subject matter.
In general, of course, it’s difficult to advise something else, maybe your semantics is not collected and written out)

You need to start promoting the site with the creation of a semantic core. Without this, it is unlikely that you will be able to get normal traffic from search (Yandex, Google). So the first thing you need to know is if people are interested in the online apps you have posted on your site? Is it possible that people do not particularly need these applications?

And then all efforts to promote the site will be in vain. You can attract people to the site as much as you like, engage in "promotion", but still you will not get traffic. In other words, all this marketing is a secondary thing. In the first place should be the quality of content and its demand among people.

In order for the site to get into the top search engines, you need to work on the content of the site, improve usability, try to speed up its work, remove unnecessary elements from the design, etc. Then you need to work on the text and other things to make it easier for users to navigate the site.
Provide your online applications with a quality description.
All those measures that you have taken to promote your site are correct. But they can only be useful if you offer quality content on the site itself.
In addition, do not think that the results of such a promotion will appear immediately. Firstly, search engines do not like young sites at all. Secondly, you can’t expect an instant return on promotion: it can take from several months to a year until the site takes off.
It is important to understand that search engines do not like small pages. So the site needs to be expanded, both in terms of volume and headings. You did the right thing by starting a blog on the site. It needs to be filled with quality articles on your subject.
