How to prevent overwriting a file already modified by another user in VS Code?

There are files on which two developers are working. How can I set up VS Code so that if I edit the same file and then save it, the editor will check it against the current version and allow or deny saving accordingly?
PS Please do not recommend changing the editor and do not turn the topic into a controversy about which editor is better :)
