How to port Drupal 6 to Drupal 7 while keeping user UIDs?

Hello.
There is a lot of different information on the network on migrating from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7. But I did not find any materials on how to update the project while preserving the user UIDs during migration.
Most of the positive feedback comes down to the Migrate module , I tried d2d_migrate (clicker) and somehow not impressed, user uid changes at the database level.
Question: how to "painlessly" transfer the old project on D6 to D7?
