How to parse a large amount of information in the database?

Hello!
There is an api with 15,000 products (the number may vary) with the names and prices of the products. I need to update information about products: add new ones if they appear and update prices in MYSQL.
Does it make sense to use python for this? Or leave to php?
If python makes sense, how best to do it there?
