How to organize uniform partitioning of a table in MS SQL?
Good afternoon.
The essence of the question - let's say there is a big-big table that needs to be partitioned:
As you understand, if you manually specify the partitioning function by date / year, then it may turn out that there are very few lines in one section, and on the contrary - a lot . I would like to achieve an even distribution across all sections.
Moreover, ideally, when you add/remove lines, the uniformity is preserved.
In Oracle there is a hash function for uniform partitioning of a table, but how can this be done in MS SQL?
I would be very grateful for any information on this matter.
Thanks in advance for your time and help.
