How to organize the interaction of the application with the bill acceptor via the SSP protocol?

Hi everybody!
There was a question of software development for any payment. Please share any useful literature. I roughly understand that CashBox receives a bill, sends information about the denomination, the application does some calculations, processing and sends an answer ( how? ) Back with specific instructions (for example, give change). How to organize communication between an application (preferably c# ) with a bill acceptor (model unknown) via SSP or CCTalk protocol ? Interface connection COM port or USB . OS - Windows .
