How to organize multilingualism on wordpress?

Hello. There is a site on Wordpress, not a small one ... Soon it will be uploaded to a new hosting. Actually the question is how to make a site in several languages?
I heard about multisite from WP, but I don’t really understand if translation plugins will be needed then? Or not to suffer with multisite and immediately install plugins?

Check out the qTranslate plugin. IMHO, this is more convenient than making several site mirrors.
