Machine translation from one language to another

How to organize joint translation of language files?

There are a number of projects (both open source and commercial) that require users to be able to translate into their languages. The language files themselves are php arrays. I checked several projects (gengo.com, GetLocalization.com, Pootle) but nothing is right. I liked transifex.com, suitable for open source, but for closed projects the tariff scale is far from convenient (per/month is not convenient, because it is not at all necessary that someone decides to help within a month).

What other projects are there? Maybe someone knows self-host solutions?

Thank you!

ps so it looks like transifex has a self-host version as well . I'll try to install. But the question is not removed yet.

UPDATE: I settled on Pootle in the end . Installed 2.5 ( available on github) - although I had to tinker with the settings (all versions of the environment must be the latest), but the UI is much better than the current version (2.1.6).

Have you looked at the Google Translator Toolkit ?

@gigigi

Here, entire books are translated through github, it may well come up.
For private projects, you can either buy an account with private repositories there or raise git at your place.
This, of course, will require some skill from users (there is also a gui), but the option should be quite convenient)
