How to organize backups from shared folders?
You need to organize a backup of shared folders. Tried Veeam, installed on a server (Debian) but had problems with it. I installed UrBackup, but judging by the logs, something is also wrong with it, swears at long paths (file names), an unrecognized character in the file name.
Now under wine - The Windows program makes backups, stable, but this is a temporary solution.
You need something reliable under Linux, who will tell you what?
Found Proxmox Backup ServerI found Proxmox Backup Server, but there is little information about it. I understand that it should function in conjunction with the Proxmox Virtual Environment? A hypervisor in which each virtual machine is backed up to this Backup Server.

Veeam, Proxmox are sharpened for backup of virtual machines. Why do you need them?
UrBackup is a normal solution.
judging by the logs, it swears at long paths (file names), an unrecognized character in the file name.Well, do it so that you don’t swear, shorten the paths, check the names.
Where are the shared folders located? The best solution here is to create an archive directly from the media (server/nas)
install Proxmox VE, transfer your hosts there, in the form of a vm, + install PBS with a virtual machine, it will be possible to:
- make incremental backups (provided that virtual machines have not rebooted from the last backup)
- restore not only the entire machine, but pull out only the necessary files from any incremental backup, (it doesn't matter what is on the VM, win or linux)
- add a remote / second host with PBS, and synchronize backups - if you need to make backups to two independent sources
