How to organize a site with pictures?

There is a site with pictures. I rent a server and the site itself and the pictures are stored on it.
In the near future there will be pictures for several terabytes.
I'm thinking of moving the site to vps, and storing pictures on a separate server (there is a cheap offer). But in this case, you need to reconfigure the admin panel to save on a separate server. It costs money.
How will it be right. Site on vps, and pictures on hdd separate? Or leave everything as it is? Or remove something with combined disks (if possible, tell me where to remove it)?
