How to organize a network video archive?
Good day!
Dear experts, the situation is as follows:
1) There is a home network (class G router, server with Debian, PC, 2 laptops, 2 phones, LG TV with SmartTV, Xbox360)
2) There are a large number of videos on different media (movies, lessons, etc. ), music, photos.
There is a great desire to organize it all in one place.
The first thing that comes to mind is attaching a disk to the server (something like 3Tb) and uploading everything there.
But here the question of the program organization of this archive arises.
You need to have access to movies from your TV, lessons from PC/laptops, photos and music from all devices.
After searching the Internet, I found out that a DLNA server is suitable for this purpose (the same miniDLNA for Debian).
But to clarify some questions, I decided to ask this question:
1) Will miniDLNA and DLNA in general fit my tasks?
2) Is it possible to watch different content at the same time on different devices?
3) Throw away the router and switch to N?
Thank you.
