How to organize a backup VM on Hyper-V under Windows 10 with a script?

Ubuntu Server 16.10 (virtual disk 40 GB) runs on Windows 10 under Hyper-v, please tell me how to organize a hot backup with archiving and encryption to cloud storage using a script? There is a script using the Export-VM directive from PowerShell, but I'm already afraid to use it, because out of 5 attempts 4 ended in different problems. Either the guest system will crash and will not start after backup, or the resulting backup is inoperative and had to be restored from an older backup. There are examples on google with wbadmin and the -hyperv key, but it is not on windows 10. Is it possible to redirect the backup stream to an encrypted archiver like rar ?

If hot and without problems - this does not happen.
On what, then, will Microsoft earn money if all server goodies are available on the user axis?
Therefore, either slow down the VM, or backup from the inside.
