How to optimize macbook after replacing hdd with ssd?

I literally just installed an ssd disk instead of a standard hdd, but I heard that after this procedure, you need to do some tweaks, disable something, turn something on the contrary so that the disk lasts longer and all that.
Tell me, who did a similar upgrade, what exactly needs to be done? Maybe something is no longer relevant after the new Mavericks OS, in general, enlighten on this issue, otherwise you yourself understand that SSDs are not cheap now, I want it to last longer.
Thank you!

Yes, normal SSDs are not killed by cell wear at home, do not worry. Even on Windows, even on a poppy. This is hundreds of terabytes to write down.
But backups, of course, must be done (regardless of the type of media, however), because something like a suddenly dead controller can happen.

I would only advise you to look if TRIM is active on the disk, tk. on non-Apple drives, it is disabled for marketing reasons, and if it is disabled , you do not need to do anything else, this function is free in the program .

Under OS X, you don't have to do anything. The maximum that you will achieve is a decrease in the speed of work.

Be sure to enable TRIM (Trim Enabler program). Otherwise, like mine, the SSD will die in six months. It is disabled by default in OX C for 3rd party SSDs.
