How to open access to rdp on a router in a vpn client?

Available:
Edgerouter as a vpn client;
Workstation as rdp server.

What was done: the vpn client was raised and the rdp port on the router was forwarded.

What is the problem:
With the vpn client turned off on the router, you can connect to the workstation via rdp from the Internet using the provider's ip address. But if I raise the vpn client, then the rdp port is closed on the provider's ip address.

What needs to be done:
When the vpn client is up, it should be possible to connect to rdp from the Internet using the provider's ip-address. How to implement it?

It is necessary to smoke routing. Namely - in VPN do not give default gateway.
Well, or at least source based routing.
