How to mute the sound of your application in Windows XP?
Hello.
My .net 4.0 application uses a web browser component that periodically plays sounds. You cannot work directly with the sound of a component. Starting with windows vista, muting the sound of only your own application, while leaving the overall system volume, is not a problem.
The problems start in windows xp, where only the overall system volume can be adjusted.
Question: how can I mute / mute the sound of an application in windows xp sp3, while not touching the overall system volume and other applications?
I was looking for ways, but I realized that this cannot be done in a human way, but maybe there are some more crutch ways? For example, intercepting sound output, or some kind of wrapper for an application that will prevent sounds from escaping. Any ideas.
