1. How to properly mount a network folder in Linux Mint so that it is automatically mounted after a reboot?

1. You can specify mounting via mount.cifs in the /etc/rc.local file with a login and password. This will mount the share during system boot.
2. You can also use mount.cifs by specifying it in the shortcut.
Have a look at the man page for the mount.cifs command for options that can be used. There is a better way. Using the libpam-mount module allows you to implement full-fledged analogues of "Windows network drives".
