How to monitor or ping your servers/VPS on your own?

How to ping your servers without any third-party services, where to place the pinger? Needed about once every few hours. Well, at least a couple of times a day.

If you buy another VPS for this, then who will monitor this server itself?

So something better is needed.

If you have a website on a VPS (or any endpoint that sends data via http) then you can do

it turns out quite a budget

If you buy another VPS for this, then who will monitor this server itself?

The same one who will monitor the workstation for which he works.
Or cross-monitoring with notification. On one of the observed servers, we monitor the monitoring server.

"Who will guard the watchmen"?
There are either two VPS, each of which herds the other, or from their own car
