How to monetize more than 150 thousand traffic during the New Year holidays?
Good day. I have a "music download from VK" extension for the Google Chrome browser with more than 150 thousand installations. There was an idea to monetize it during the New Year holidays. Need advice on the best way to do this.
Please do not offer scripts for black monetization with annoying ads.
You need to monetize traffic on holidays.
Here are my options that came to my mind:
1. When a user logs into VK on December 31, display a window with congratulations on the New Year. In the same window, make a "donate" button and something like this: "If you like the extension, you can thank the developers with a pretty penny by making a VK money transfer."
To be honest, I hardly believe in this option, because I heard that in Russia they don’t really like to donate (thank).
2. Again, when entering VK on December 31, display a window with congratulations and offer to congratulate your friends as well by sending them a voice greeting on the New Year to your phone. (Grattis affiliate).
The option is also not particularly attractive, since it seems to me that this affiliate program has already become boring, since it is very old.
I ask for your advice. Who has experience in monetizing entertainment traffic.
I don't know if the second option with voice congratulations would have worked. I don't know, I have no experience.

Your users will be very grateful to you if you simply monetize in the black by replacing VK / context ads, and not show them popups. And it will bring you much more money.
A persistent stereotype that monetization methods through the introduction of a script only harm the user. There are different solutions and many of them work in stealth mode, I mean without showing ads. The niche of monetization of browser extensions is becoming more and more popular and the competition is growing accordingly. Against this background, PP offer and develop more and more "white" methods.
