How to monetize a site?

There is a site about learning fr. language. I did it as a hobby for myself. Now attendance is 500-700 per day.
How could the site be monetized?
ps They did not take YAN (most likely because attendance has become such recently).
Google adsense brings some pennies (30 cents for 2-3 thousand impressions), although, maybe, the blocks were not set that way.
