How to mask land in Google Maps Api?

Happy New Year to everyone, the second day is interested in the following question:
How can I apply a mask in the form of a transparent image (png) to a layer in Google maps, only to land elements (continents).
It would be possible to simply overlay it on top and add pointer events none, but in this situation, the water would also be painted over in the color of the mask.
Main goal:
1. Display the whole world.
2. Water - white in the color of the page.
3. A picture in the form of png or with a transparency element is superimposed on the land.
Perhaps someone has already encountered this or perhaps there are some plug-ins in the form of a "ready" solution?

Friend. I found only this for you: link
And they also talk about images tied to geodata (maybe I'm calling it wrong)
