The approaches are different. Read the basics and choose yours. Here's what comes to mind:
1. Add-on for Chrome (or other browser). By the way, there are already such additions (vk offline, it seems)
2. Make some kind of JS script and tweak it through the developer console.
3. Do you like perversions? You can make your desktop version on qt.
Obviously, it's better to leave the cycling industry alone and download a ready-made add-on.
