How to make VIM Markdown and Cyrillic friends?

Finally got around to adding support for preview files with markdown to vim. I use https://github.com/shime/livedown for this How to make him understand Russian in the text? Tested under xubuntu 15.10 - krakozyabry comes out :( It is clear that the output should be utf-8 in meta tags, but html is generated with an empty header. Is there some way to indicate that utf-8 is output? strangely there is no problem with the preview with this :(
