How to make traffic go through a VPN client on Mikrotik?

Help with setting up Mikrotik, the task and condition are one to one like here: wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Policy_Base_Routing , i.e. it is necessary that some traffic does not go directly through the provider, but through a raised VPN tunnel to a foreign proxy.
I set it up exactly according to the instructions, but it does not work. Traffic goes into the tunnel, but returning is dropped by this rule.

I receive the Internet from the provider via PPPoE.
VPN tunnel over PPTP.

Instead of it is simpler to register a route in routes on the necessary subnets?

I don't quite understand why this is done. Isn't it easier to just set the distance for the pppoe route to 2? absolutely I would register a static route to your vpn server, specifying the pppoe face + remove the routing mark. then. all our traffic would go through vpn, which would go through pppoe. if I, of course, remember everything correctly)
or leave "that's all", but then show how the firewall, mangles and other things that are in ip-> firewall are configured PS
: I understand correctly that the provider gives you ip (maybe a personal an office or something like that), but for normal internet
you also need to raise pppoe?
