How to make the whole object transparent?

I have an object of approximately the following construction

Obj
--Image1
--Image2
--Image3
--Image4
--Text1

How to make everything transparent individually, I know if it is possible to somehow set transparency for the entire object at once and what is in it ? If so, how?
