How to make the controller in yii2 check the version of the widget?

Good morning! Let's say I have an action controller and a widget that sends data to the action. How can I check the "version", because if new data fields are added and the widget is updated on the server, and the controller was forgotten to be updated, then an error occurred for the user.
I understand that by mistake, I immediately guess that I did not update the controller, but I would like to somehow immediately warn about mismatches of the "version".
