How to make the application work in the background and auto-start after it is turned on?

Disclaimer:
I don't have a task to completely immerse myself in android development with the study of all the nuances. It is required to write a small application for personal use. Probably I'm asking garbage, or I'm asking wrong.

There is an application. Written. Works. But only if it is manually launched and hangs in the list of recently launched ones. It is worth swiping or restarting the smartphone, the application is disabled.

Google does not understand my requests for this problem, and gives out different tutorials on setting up the android. And I need a solution from a programmer's point of view.

Development is carried out in Android Studio, language java. The application is constantly communicating with my own server.

Actually the question is how to run the application in the background so that it also starts after a reboot (not manually).

I would be grateful for any tips, examples, or correct queries in the search engine.
