How to make sure that the server does not crash if the connection to Mongo is interrupted?

Strange situation. The server crashes if I send a request to Mongo and it can't connect to it for a while. How can I make it just return an error? I only found this thread and there doesn't seem to be a solution - https://stackoverflow.com/questions/20689768/how-t... Has
