How to make permanent split windows in IDEA?

Hello!
I can't figure out how to permanently split windows in IDEA.
It is clear how to make it non-permanent: File -> Split Vertically
However, if you close the file, then the window splitting is also closed. How to make it not closed?
I work in Sublime and so I'm used to it. There it is simply done: alt+cmd+<number of windows>
