How to make people more socially open when they don't really need it (for example, when buying a Chinese tablet)?
I wanted to share a little experience and at the same time ask the wider community:
I have a joint procurement site - Tugeso. At some point, I wanted to give the participants a little more than just the opportunity to buy cheaper, namely, to participate in the creation of an OEM version of a top-end Chinese tablet. As an additional reward, each participant could send a photo to be placed on the cover of the tablet - something like a collective "memory photo". If in terms of clarifying the characteristics of the tablet, almost everyone responded. That photo was sent by about 100 people (more than 500 people participated in the action). We have a small and fairly lively community, and at first it seemed that the place on the cover would fly like hot cakes. And it turned out that the principle of 20/80 won. Maybe it's just not yet the time for universal openness? Or is 100 out of 500 who have discovered themselves a lot? Or maybe in general - it's all superfluous?

100 out of 500 is very good. There is no need to forcibly make people open, a person should always feel comfortable for fruitful activity. And his publicly posted photograph may even interfere with this.
I think 100 out of 500 is fine. You know, IT people are mostly closed people. They do not need these honors. The main thing for them was to help, and not to post their photo. Girls, for example, also do not like to show themselves.
I think it's not redundant. Who sent - they will be pleased. Those who did not send it, it means that they are so pleased that they were able to help! :)
Is the photo on the cover, in the sense of the box, or is the photo on the cover, in the sense of what the device is wrapped in when not in use?
1. It is not clear why the Chinese need a tablet with Russian faces, especially a top
one 2. You propose not to become socially open, but to become a cover, the face of the company and at the same time pay off the dough for this by buying this product, not everyone will do this (for example, are you ready you become socially open and put your photo on the packaging of sanitary napkins???). Now, if the Chinese riveted some exclusive tablet for your particular community, then yes, I think the percentage would be higher.
3. Not all people are beautiful, many people think so and are mistaken, and some are really not so hot =)
