How to make password access to all directories except one in nginx?

Hello. I am developing a website. The site is running on a server with nginx. So that no outsider sees the unfinished work, I made basic authentication for all directories:

location / {
                try_files $uri $uri/ @rewrite;
                auth_basic "Restricted";
                auth_basic_user_file /var/www/sitename-passwd;
        }

Tell me how to make it so that the password is asked for all directories except "/testcat"?
