How to make it so that Ubuntu can see computers in a Windows workgroup?

Today I installed Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS for the first time. I connected it to the workgroup (workgroup is used in the organization) and now the question is why I don’t see the computers on which Windows is installed? What should I set up to see them? At the moment I see only computers on which Linux is installed. That is, I go to "Files" - "Other places" - and in the "Network" Windows network I do not see more than one computer.
And an offtopic question: for what reason does the layout switching work neither by alt + shift, nor by ctrl + shift? What am I doing wrong?
