How to make GitLab friends with Apache?

Installed GitLab on Ubuntu Server 14.04 according to the instructions from the office. site:

By default, gitlab uses Nginx, tried to make it friends with Apache according to various instructions (for example, ryansechrest.com/2015/08/use-apache-instead-of- bui... ), but nothing comes out. Can anyone help and describe the step-by-step algorithm for linking GitLab to Apache?

I can’t even imagine why such a perversion is necessary. After all, this will destroy a lot of time, I took it and installed GitLab on a separate server or in a docker container, which is much more convenient and that's it. Going against the official documentation that the GitLab developers wrote is a long time, if it works out, then it turns out that something is buggy, the update will not work, and so on, I think it’s a complete hemorrhoid and a dead end
