How to make different image srcset on wordpress?

Good day to all! On my site, rectangular post images are used, but for phones they turn into square ones (adaptive, they are cut off themselves). Can you please tell me how to make one picture for the desktop version and another for the mobile one? I read about srcset, but I can't figure it out myself. Now the image is displayed with the code "<?php the_post_thumbnail('large'); ?>"
