Hello.
Tell me how to make Atom friends with the Russian language, when outputting?
And that deduces not readable characters.
The editor defaults to UTF-8.

Good afternoon.
Faced a similar problem, for a long time I was looking for answers in RuNet and on the Atom website.
In the end, chance solved the problem.
A small caveat Windows 10, at the time of the answer, the latest build, I hope that there will be a similar item on earlier versions.
You may not have a similar setup, but it's worth a try.
Go to "Windows Settings" - "Time and Language" - select in the Related parameters block "Date, time and region format" - then again in the Related parameters block "Advanced date and time settings, regional settings" - in the window that opens in the Regional block parameters click on "Change date, time and number formats" - in the pop-up window on top it will be "Advanced" - then "Change system language" and put a tick as shown in the screenshot.
