How to make an economical battery powered garland?

Does anyone have a diagram or can someone help in drawing it up?
It is required to make a LED garland.

  • 20 to 40 LEDs (20mA, white, 5mm)
  • three finger batteries (3 x 1.5V = 4.5V)

The garland should work more than 60 hours. A simple circuit with a parallel or series connection through the resistance will not work, the flow is too high.

I doubt this idea a little, because 20mA x 20pcs = 0.4A x 60h = 24A it seems to me that no AA batteries are enough (if I correctly calculated the consumption in ampere hours).
And so, in principle, I agree that PWM is suitable.
this is a good calculator
