How to make a route in Symfony2 for custom sitemaps in the /web folder?

The sitemap files are located in the web/sitemaps.
What would be the correct way to make them available via http://mydomain.com/sitemapsSymfony 2.8.9 ?

Do it with non-Symfony.
And the corresponding web server.
nginx, apache...
