How to make a robotic mannequin?

Hey everyone,
In a nutshell, we are reselling clothing from Taobao.com and are looking for a solution that is convenient, fast, and scalable for customer measurements. Customers enter their basic measurements when placing an order - height, chest, waist and hips.
I want to make a robot like Fits.me :

So far, the technical idea has come to make a herringbone of linear actuators:

I.e. 4-6 linear actuators are fixed on the rigid “spine” at the bend points, and they slide in and out, squeezing out panels or some kind of elastic material (?), thus forming a semblance of a mannequin.
It can be seen that the Fits.me robot is made simpler - inside there is some kind of network of zigzag brackets, but I'm not sure about the attachment system.
I will be glad to any thoughts and ideas. :)

You can buy a ready-made mannequin with changing geometry, and put motors into it. Its shape changes with the help of wheels with gears.
But in general, than to put every thing on a mannequin, in my opinion it is easier to learn how to measure the clothes themselves. Lay out on the table and take measurements.

The mannequin won't help you. With the same dimensions, the figure may have a different degree of deflection in the lower back, a bulge on the neck, the angle of the shoulder, etc., etc. If your task is to compare the linear dimensions, then it is enough to measure the thing itself, which can also have its own nuances if the thing is knitted. This kind of mannequins are good to use for fitting clothes to an individual figure, but this requires a very long set-up. I have a similar mannequin, it took me hours to adjust it to fit my figure.
