How to make a project in Visual Studio C++ to exe and send to user?

I made a small program in Visual Studio in C++, and I want to send it to my friends so they can download and use it via exe (ideas of other options are also welcome). I have already generated an exe file (changed debug to release and found exe in the release folder), but when I open it, the console closes on the first cout.
